'Cookery Taster'

Working with years 1-6 we provided one off taster lessons, teaching cookery techniques and focusing on healthy eating.

Potato salad

Over three days we delivered six, one and a half hour class lessons for years 1-6. Focusing on healthy eating, and using age appropriate techniques, we made a variety of tasty dishes including vegetable tagine and roast vegetable pasta salad.

The children learnt to cut safely, weigh, measure, and mix various ingredients.  We also made some beetroot and lemon cakes which used 25% less fat and sugar than standard fairy cakes, and they tasted delicious!
